I'm going to play on UB and plan to play around 1,000 hands per day on weekdays and 1,500 or so hands on the weekends. I will hopefully post graphs and screenshots a few times a week. GL me!

Graph of 2006 100NL and 200 NL

The last 42K hands. After I come back to playing, this is the level I'm going to stick to. The graph of 400NL is just nasty ...

New Screen via FTP

Here is my new setup thanks to 68,000 FTP points and a video card at Best Buy:

I'm taking a break from playing for a while though. I will definitely not play 400NL for a long time after my two experiences.

Thursday: 200NL

Played till I was up a buy-in - 453 hands, +$203.40. Played 19/15, but my heart really wasn't in it.

Lost this hand when my TPGK ran into a set vs. a short-stack. I make this call every time in this situation.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?806079

Easy call vs. shortstack. King hits on the turn. He berrated me afterwards ... haha.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?806085

I have a "set". http://www.pokerhand.org/?806091. I'm guessing he laid down an overpair there - QQ or JJ.

I also ordered a new Samsung 20 inch monitor:

6-8 weeks for delivery? It was 62,000 points.

Wednesday's 200NL

Got in a hole early when a guy hit a 3 outer with AQ vs. AK AI-PF:

http://www.pokerhand.org/?803578

I suck out on someone myself, although I figured I had all kinds of outs against his range.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?803628

The way he bet the pot here so quickly I didn't put him on a jack or a full house, so CR-AI on the turn:

http://www.pokerhand.org/?803690

Nice play by this guy. Not really: http://www.pokerhand.org/?803706

I was ABOUT to quit when I accidently didn't unclick the "Auto Post Blinds" button. So I decided to play another orbit at this table. This really aggressive player who's been re-raising me all day check raised me on a A59 flop when I had AQ. I put him on a bluff or a set and took him to the river. I didn't bet the river because I was crushing a bluff or burned by a set.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?803768

So ... all in all, my suckouts were about equal to other people sucking out on me. So there goes your variance. In the end, I was up $482 over 1163 hands. I ran 18/13. Overall, I thought I played well.

Tuesday at 200NL

Played 805 hands of very disciplined poker. There were a few situations where I overplayed some hands.

JJ - raise, fold to a push: http://www.pokerhand.org/?800548

A8 - re-raise a pretty aggro raiser - unless he is habitally doing this, this should be a fold: http://www.pokerhand.org/?800557

I feel like people are floating me in position: http://www.pokerhand.org/?800549

Now ... the hands where I stacks people:

KK on a 3-bet 8Q3 flop. I call the mini-raise and then CR-AI on a pretty safe turn: http://www.pokerhand.org/?800152

JJ - turn a boat while putting the guy on something like 89: http://www.pokerhand.org/?800081

Donk posts OOP and I decide that I'm going to go all the way with the hand pre-flop. I probably could have put out a little $30 bet on the river, but I figured he would shove.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?800569

I'm glad he didn't have A5 or something.

How badly was this misplayed on the villain's part? http://www.pokerhand.org/?800570 I was convinced that he had 44.

So overall I played 15/11 (nit!) and netted $779.70. I will stick around 1/2 to fix my leaks until I get back up to $10,000.

1/2 Update

So ... after taking some massive hits at 2/4 I've decided to come back down to 1/2 and rebuild my bankroll. One of the things I noticed is that I play some of my draws way too aggressively. People end up calling with just top pair, no kicker, and I get burned. I also overplayed AK quite a bit. Those are two leaks I've gotta address at 1/2 before going back to 2/4. I also have to figure out how to get the max out of my good hands - something I'm not fully doing.

Here is an example where I used a blocking bet to cause the guy to shove his stack. I insta-called and just hoped he didn't have a 9: http://www.pokerhand.org/?798476

I think 4-betting him on the flop was correct. I also think checking the turn was correct.

Finally, I have to start bluffing a little more in opportune situations.

Here are two spots where I feel I made the correct laydown:

Aces, 4-bet pre-flop: http://www.pokerhand.org/?798486

Queens, 3-bet pre-flop: http://www.pokerhand.org/?798488

Destroyed at 2/4

Yesterday I got my ars handed to me at 2/4. A lot of it was me making bad reads, but a lot of it was me losing some $900+ coinflips. So ... I decided to go down to $1/$2 and rebuild there until I have enough to move back up. The games are so much less aggressive at 1/2 ... it's crazy.

Here is a hand I played today at 1/2 vs. a super aggro player:

http://www.pokerhand.org/?788522

I 3-bet him pre-flop because of his really loose range. I flop a full house and decide to check repping QQ or KK. He flat calls. I then weak bet the turn and call his min raise. I lead out really weak into the river as a fake blocking bet allowing him to shove (which he does). I call and he's got trash.

This is just pretty - the gift in the BB. I actually took some $$ with it as well.

Here I flop the dummy end of the straight with a flush draw. The guy has two pair - top and bottom - and gets it all-in for over a buy-in.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?788604

Me with ~5 buy-ins at a 1/2 table:

Brian recommended that I do the following things:
  • Have a stop-loss limit of 3 buy-ins. After that, I'm done for the day.
  • Decrease my bets on the turn and river and for the most part give up out of position.
  • Take free cards when given the chance to do so.
  • Don't CB into two ore more people without some kind of hand.
